The employability gap is a national imperative, given the influx of youth entering the workforce annually and the simultaneous demand from businesses for skilled personnel. This initiative aligns with key national programs such as the National Skill Development Mission, National Urban Livelihood Mission and Skill India. There is an urgent need for large-scale employability initiatives to meet this challenge effectively.
GTT Foundation has established a network on Career Development Centres (CDCs) across the countries in colleges and at community centres to enable young people and women access skilling programmes in the closed proximity of where they reside. They are supported for placement into jobs through a well established employer's network, further to their placement they are also provided with mentoring support to adapt in their first jobs.
